Seven tracks made their way to my inbox from the London-dwelling native of São Paulo, Brazil. Flavio is launching his first release ‘Higher’ on 23rd October with a show at London Soho Theatre and a later launch planned in Brazil.
Strong Christian beliefs are evident in ‘Zion,’ ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ (sung in Portuguese) and ‘When I speak your name.’ His delivery of these powerful tracks is nothing short of beautiful. He sings like an angel. The music makes you want to just stop and reflect. Flavio’s voice has a natural and very soothing quality to it. An effortless delivery, somewhat akin to Johnny Mathis. My thought is that I would love to hear Flavio sing some soul classics, as I think he has the voice to carry this off.
‘Higher’ is a seven track CD with gentle, love-filled tracks, delivered in a honeyed voice. The goal of this release, according to Flavio is, “to share his passion and belief in God’s power and unconditional love.” The first single “My Beloved” was composed and written by Christian singer Kari Jobe. A first listen on YouTube touched Flavio’s soul so deeply he decided to record it.
His church choir upbringing is very evident in this release. It’s a loving, angelic offering from a very accomplished and talented vocalist.
